Kind Corner

I’m Jessica Bruno—an educator, mother, founder of The Kind Corner (formally Kind Tutoring), and someone who has always believed that childhood deserves to be held with care, curiosity, and creativity. For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with children across classrooms and continents—from New York to the Bahamas to Switzerland. I’ve taught sixth graders how to craft essays, supported four-year-olds as they discovered the magic of phonics, and led grade-level teams at international schools. Along the way, I’ve earned degrees in Childhood Education and Literacy from Hofstra University, with a little extra love for Creative Writing tucked in. But titles and credentials only tell part of the story. Kind Tutoring was born not just out of professional expertise, but from a personal calling. After years in schools, I wanted to create something quieter, more intimate—something that honors each child’s pace, their story, and their sense of wonder. “Kind” is a nod to children, to compassion, to knowledge, and to the kind of teacher I strive to be: nurturing, intentional, and human. I care deeply about the science of reading and early childhood development—but just as much about building trust, sparking joy, and creating rituals that feel like home. My work now lives in a cozy corner of the internet, where I design literacy experiences that feel like real classrooms—minus the fluorescent lights and frantic pace. Above all, I believe that how we teach matters as much as what we teach. And that a child who feels seen, safe, and supported can do extraordinary things.
